bluesfest presents gov't mule + kenny wayne shepherd band

Originally formed as a side project by Allman Brothers members Warren Haynes and Allen Woody, Gov't Mule developed a sound which mixed Southern rock with a more bluesy psychedelic feel. Allen Woody's sad death in 2000 was a major setback, but after a temporary hiatus the band came back. They continue to make music with passion, driven by the need to do something different for each record without ever losing the characteristic Gov't Mule spirit.

The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band is a veritable who’s who in rock and blues. In addition to long-time vocalist Noah Hunt, the band features drummer Chris Layton, a 2014 inductee into the Musicians Hall of Fame as a member of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, ex-Firm bassist Tony Franklin and keyboardist Riley Osbourn, whom Shepherd met while Osbourn was playing in Willie Nelson’s band.
