the airplane family with live dead 69

THE AIRPLANE FAMILY with LIVE DEAD '69, comprised of original, legacy & Rock Hall of Fame members from Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Starship, The Great Society (Grace Slick's first band), Rat Dog, The Other Ones & Hot Tuna - have announced a series of exclusive UK concerts to coincide with The 50th Anniversary of The Summer of Love.

The veritable "Who's Who" of The San Francisco Sound brings together ...
- Darby Slick (Great Society founder & composer of "Somebody To Love")
- Peter Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane member & co-founder of Jefferson Starship & Hot Tuna)
- Slick Aguilar & Prairie Prince (Jefferson Starship members for 25 years)
- Mike Falzarano (from NRPS & Hot Tuna) ... plus 'ingenues' ... Joli Valenti (son of Quicksilver founder Dino Valenti) and Eva Avila (winner of Canada Idol). THE AIRPLANE FAMILY perform 3 distinct themed shows featuring never before performed Airplane selections along with all the hits & favorites - June 26, 27, 29 at Dingwall's in Camden Town - a venue eerily reminiscent of San Francisco's Matrix, where The Airplane, The Dead & many others started over 50 years ago ... "much as Camden Town has always reminded us of The Haight Ashbury," mused Grateful Dead's Tom Constanten, interviewed by the BBC in Nashville a few days ago for a "Summer of Love" TV special airing in the UK later this year.

Speaking of The Dead's Constanten, he returns his acclaimed ensemble LIVE DEAD '69 to the UK for these shows, following the band's triumphant UK debut tour & sold out London appearance in Feb. LIVE DEAD '69 also features Mark Karan (guitarist with Rat Dog, The Other Ones), Rich Newman (drummer with Paul Rogers) & Tony Morley (Jefferson Starship multi-instrumentalist on bass) along with Slick Aguilar pulling double duty.
