Blazing soul-blues rocker Tommy Castro’s musical roots run deep. Hailing from San Jose, California, Tommy was inspired by the acts that toured in the 60's and 70's in the local clubs such as Janis Joplin, Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker, Ike & Tina Turner, Buddy Guy and more.

His first band, NiteCry, were formed in 1985 before he joined Warner Bros recording artists The Dynatones in the late 1980's. He formed the Tommy Castro Band in 1991 and went on to be the house band on NBC's "Comedy Showcase" in the USA for three seasons. He won the BB King Entertainer of the Year Award in 2009, the sasme year he signed to Alligator Records.
